Earthing

Paul:

“I kept reading books about ‘Astral projection’ because I thought this must be where the answers are. There were similarities with those experiences and with what was happening to me. Now referring back to the ‘Core Experience,’ I mentioned that the ‘lecturer’ put his ankle up against a rotating pipe.

"I read in these books the idea of “grounding” or ‘Earthing.’ My knowledge on electricity was very slight, and I never really understood properly what ‘Earthing’ was. It was later that I read a book . . . I think it was by Colin Wilson, where he mentions that he once saw Uri Geller demonstrating his powers to a team of Scientists. Now I don’t remember his exact words but Colin Wilson says that Uri would often place his ankle up against a radiator when he was bending spoons and the like, and that he thought that he may have done this in order to ‘earth’ himself, and that he may have been using the magnetic force of the earth. I thought this was curious.”

Gary:

This IS curious, because when I had found the book that Paul was talking about, there was more information in that paragraph which Paul must have forgotten about or overlooked. The book Paul was trying to remember is Mysteries, by Colin Wilson, and the section he was alluding to is on page 446.

Here, Colin Wilson also gives his own ideas as to what energy Uri Geller may have been using, and he asks: “Could Geller be using the magnetic force of the earth itself – the ‘telluric currents’ – or “ley power?” [1]

Wilson then goes on to say that Geller had explained to him that his powers are often greatest in dry areas, and that they worked best of all in Mexico, especially in ancient pyramids. Colin Wilson then had this to say:

‘And as if Michell believes, such pyramids were erected on ‘nodal points’ of ley power, then this might certainly help to explain why Geller feels himself ‘recharged’ in such places.’ [2]

The mention of ‘nodal points’ in relation to this energy and the Pyramids is very significant and I would ask the reader to keep this in mind. I am certain that I now understand to some extent the ancient ‘system of knowledge’ that connects this Energy to the Pyramids all around the world and why Pyramids were constructed upon certain ‘Nodal Points’ (Points of Convergence or Power Points) regarding the earth’s positive and negative lines of force and which makes up the Morphogenetic Grid system.

The conclusions I have now come to concerning the above and more besides, are truly astounding and seem to be related to the very concept, which all these experiences had been leading us to from the very beginning. Its possible that some of us have a genetic memory that reaches back to what our shaman ancestors naturally perceived and understood in regard to the world around them.

Voices

Paul:

“On two occasions, I have distinctly heard a male voice in my head just before falling asleep. [Hypnagogic State] His words the first time were: “Go to sleep . . .”

"The second: “There are two unknowns . . .” I have also heard someone telling me to go to sleep when I have suddenly awakened in the middle of the night, and after this is spoken I promptly fall back to sleep again.”

Gary:

We later found these particular experiences to be very interesting.

In UFO literature – and especially the "abduction" phenomenon – there are many cases of people saying they had suddenly woken-up in the night only to hear a voice telling them to go back to sleep:

‘I woke up in the middle of the night, sat up in bed wide awake and thought, “Oh, I’ve just been somewhere.” And a voice, not a feeling but a voice, said, “Lie down, roll over, lie down, go to sleep, you are all right.” And I did. I went straight to sleep. I wasn’t scared [usually] when I wake up in the middle of the night and I am scared, it doesn’t matter how many times I tell myself, “Don’t be stupid, roll over, go to sleep,” it doesn’t happen. This was different.’ [3]

‘ . . . I think its October. I wake up . . . Something woke me up, and I looked straight downstairs.

The fluorescent light’s on, and there’s one of the Grey beings with a . . . blue uniform [on]. But he’s taller and thinner. He’s a taller one than the rest. He’s almost as tall as me. And he does have three fingers, three digits . . .

He’s standing by the cabinet door, which is open, and I had just put the . . . motion detector sensor in the inside of the cabinet there, and he appears like he’s looking at it, and he’s got his right hand extended up toward it, and I kind of prop myself up in bed a little bit so I can look straight down at him, and he turns his whole body toward me.

He doesn’t turn his head. He kinda turns his whole body, his whole chest, and . . . pivots his body toward me, and he looks at me. He’s different. His . . . eyes are just light . . . and he’s telling me that I must go back to sleep . . . I feel like I must go back to sleep like he’s saying, and I go back to sleep.’ [4]

The voices that tell people to go back to sleep is all very strange, especially when they crop up in the accounts of those who are supposedly linked with the so-called “alien-abduction phenomenon.” Paul once told me that it seemed to indicate an intelligence which may be “working on us” in some way while we sleep. Either that, or we catch glimpses of this intelligence the moment we reach the hypnagogic or hypnopompic states and that this intelligence or other intelligences compels us to go back to sleep because “it” or “they” do not, or does not want to reveal “itself” or “themselves” as yet.

It certainly brings to mind the analogy of a patient who is slowly “coming around” out of the anaesthetic while he or she is on the operating table. If these encounters with another intelligence are really happening – as the collating evidence of people’s accounts show – then, this would give a partial explanation for the manifestation of this particular voice phenomenon and why it says what it says. But again, if this intelligence or intelligences are “working” on us in some way . . . what is it they are actually doing?

Paul once mused that they may be working on our bodies, but not our physical bodies . . . our so-called, ‘astral’ bodies. He was of the idea that “it,” or “they,” may be trying to alter or raise our consciousness by reprogramming our data on an “astral level” as it were.

One would say that our energies must extend into other dimensions at a higher frequency, and that the ‘opening’ in our consciousness during the hypnagogic and hypnopompic states are where we can consciously glimpse the activity that may be going on around us in these other dimensions. Nevertheless, this is all conjecture at the moment and its something else we will have to come back to when we have looked at enough collative evidence to support it. I am more inclined to say that we are really participating in some 'virtual reality construct' (our reality) - something which is only now being theorised by Nick Bostrom.

Although I haven’t yet heard anyone telling me to go back to sleep, I have heard disembodied voices. My own experiences of this voice phenomenon usually happen just before I wake – which would be the ‘hypnopompic state.’ This has happened numerous times, in which I would usually hear the voice of my mother calling me when she wasn’t anywhere near. Paul has also had this kind of voice phenomenon himself.

When I have spoken to people about this and have asked if they have had the same experience, I was surprised at how many have said no and looked at me as if I was mad. Knowing how common Déjà vu is, I was also sure that all of us must have had this kind of experience – but apparently its not as common as I assumed. It seems that not many of are aware of the hypnagogic or hypnopompic states of consciousness, and may even have a blind spot regarding it. Most people simply fall straight asleep during the night and then instantly wake up in the morning.

If we take the analogy of a strip of movie film, again, we could liken the hypnagogic borderline to the thin black line between the moving images on the film. Likewise if we were to concentrate on the borderline between the images of our waking consciousness and the dream images of our sleeping consciousness then we would be experiencing something totally different to what our senses are used to. (I will come back to this cine-film analogy many times and in many ways throughout this work, as it gives us a perfect illustration regarding the projection of our own energy, which we use to create reality and how we are mesmerised by its illusions.)

I remember an incident that happened while I was staying at my parents’ house – this was at the time of Paul’s first experiences. My bedroom was the attic extension.

I was awakened one Saturday morning at about 7:45 by my name being loudly called . . . it was Paul’s voice. I sat up immediately, the voice sounded as if it was coming from the stairs outside the room. My first reaction to this was that Paul must have decided to visit us and had arrived early. I shouted back “What do you want?” I got no answer. I then got out of bed, opened the door and looked down the stairs . . . there was no one there. I was puzzled, I distinctly heard my name being called and it was definitely Paul’s voice. It was audible and seemed to be coming from the stairs. I got dressed and went downstairs to find that Paul was still at home 15 miles away.

The last time I had this experience was in 1994: I was dozing one morning before I had to get up to go to work. Suddenly I heard a voice say my name, “Gary!” It woke me up instantly . . . but again there was no one there. The voice was masculine; was very slow and deep, and seemed to be coming from the bedside table that was to the left of my head. This really fascinated me because I clearly heard it. It was audible and seemed to be coming from outside my head and in the room itself – as if some kind of mental ventriloquism had taken place.

Again, Hereward Carrington gives some reference to this in his book under a sub-chapter called ‘Colours and Voices.’ He refers first to the strange visions we see when in the hypnagogic state:

‘At this stage also many psychics see faces of friends and relatives, either living or dead, just as they are falling asleep or as they are awakening in the morning – more usually the former. [The hypnagogic and hypnopompic states.] They also see many strange faces. These may be mere vague images or clearly outlined. Instead of the faces they may hear voices, speaking – and the first thing which these voices generally say is the name of the subject himself. After this the voices may become more and more clear and intense, but such phenomena should be permitted only at stated times, because if they are allowed to develop whenever they may be experienced, trouble may result.’ [5] (My emphasis)

This last sentence is interesting: “but such phenomena should only be permitted only at stated times.”

I assume that Carrington is saying that these visions and voices should only be permitted to manifest at such times as when the hypnagogic and hypnopompic states are experienced – usually when we go to sleep and when we awake – otherwise “trouble may result.”

Carrington is saying that if we hear these voices at any other time – like during the day for example – then we could have problems. (I relate my own understanding of these problems to Schizophrenia see here).
